The KDSB will support RLIFC in expanding preschool spaces through capital and ongoing operational funding. Moozoons Child Care Centre’s provide children with the opportunity to develop and enhance an awareness and appreciation of Indigenous culture and language, promoting essential personal pride in their Indigenous ancestry. Moozoons Child Care Centre currently offers fifteen (15) Family Age Group spaces for children ages 0-12.
“This is very positive news for Red Lake. We are pleased to offer an additional 24 spaces, which allow for a variety of age groupings at Moozoons Child Care Centre’s. Many families and children will benefit in the community with increased access to high-quality child care,” says Monique Tougas, Operations/Executive Director, RLIFC.
Sarah Stevenson, Chief Executive Officer, KDSB, echoed Tougas’ energy about the project. “The KDSB is extremely proud to support this valuable expansion. Through the preschool expansion, the community will receive vital support as the need for child care continues to grow and remains a priority for many families in Red Lake. I want to thank the teams involved from both organizations for their great work and collaboration in supporting this initiative,” Stevenson said.
The KDSB and RLIFC are excited for this child care space expansion in Red Lake through RLIFC. The KDSB will provide support with both capital funding and ongoing operational funding.
